It's Never Goodbye It's See You Later

It’s Never Goodbye It’s See You Later

My Great-Grandma was an amazing beautiful woman that was taken from us way to soon and always said to me Dear it is never goodbye its see you later. She was there to watch me grow up at home and at the cottage in Delta. She guided me in the best direction she could when I lived with her for two years and she did a great job. She was the person that was there when I got my acceptance to my nursing program and supported me through the rough times and all the good times passing all my tests with 80’s and 90’s. Grandma was always the one jumping up and down in the kitchen and hugging me so tight and telling me how proud she was of me. Having the opportunity and privilege to live with my GREAT grandma for years was an amazing time that I will always cherish, the laughs and endless nights of watching Mrs. Browns boys and hearing her laugh endlessly are the moments I will always remember. Grandma always wanted what was best for her grandkids and she loved the fact that I wanted a lime green bedroom, so we got the paint and we painted my room lime green and she never let one day go by without telling me how much she loved that lime green bedroom! I had the amazing opportunity of being surprised on Christmas day in 2006 with a card from grandma and I opened it and it said will you fly with me to the United Kingdom! Grandma and I went to England for two weeks, and I had the best time of my life, I didn’t want to come home. The one memory that always plays back in my head is the night we went for Chinese and it was a buffet, grandma and I go up to get our food and she had sat down, and I was walking back with my plate and I dropped my plate in the middle of the restaurant and the whole place was silent! About thirty seconds after that you hear MY grandma stand up and burst out laughing, laughing so hard she was cackling and I was so embarrassed! For weeks on end she never let me live that down and it was a great story for when we came home. I also had the amazing opportunity to go to Paris with my grandma and cousin Jason, and spend a couple days there and I will say it is a memory I will never forget! I am very fortunate for the time I got to spend with my grandma. Even though she was taken from me/us way to fast she was one great lady who always spoke her mind whether you liked it or not and that is one thing I loved about her. Not having my grandma around anymore has been really hard for me, hard not to pick up the phone every day and be able to call her like I used too but I will always have all our memories to remember. I know she is in a better place and she is with my Poppa Jack who she missed so much for the last eight years. I hope you and Poppa Jack are enjoying yourselves up there Grandma; we miss the both of you more than ever! You will always have a place in my heart and I love you so much!
