Joy was my favourite neighbour as soon as I moved in my home 14 years ago.  We seldom talked but the few times a year we did were honest, fun and memorable.  Having a pint on a hot day or a muffin and tea on a cold one was always enjoyable.  What a gem! 

Five years ago, I got myself in a pickle with the Brockville Police Department and she recruited help from another neibhour to demand my release in her custody!  All of this well into the night!  She did not succeed but allowed me to walk with my head high despite the shame I felt.  For that, I will always cherish her memory.
