Such a Sweet Man

I was blessed to be befriended by my Coast Guard partner-in-optimism Steve when we shared a (very small) office for a few months in Vancouver.

It was just prior to being able to be there for him when he had his heart attack.  After that he prodded me back to watch what we ate and exercise: we did the MS Walk... on and on and such fun.  I felt like a little sister, loved his family and chastised him, coaxed him, and hounded him to take care of himself... that motor bike scared me so much!  He took care of me too as a friend and support for my whole family.

I enjoyed his quirks, his cats, his heart, his cooking, his love for contributing in every possible way. I have so many stories and memories that I'll always remember with fondness.

I last spent a few hours with him and all the lovely birds in his back yard in Prescott, and we reminisced and talked about the things that matter: family, nature, friends.

He always lent a hand, always had so much love for family - and I felt like a member of that every time I was with him.

He loved life - and so much about it.  My condolences to the family, his neighbours and the community who will be missing him, I'm so sure, very much.

Rest my friend.

Joan
