On Sunday, February 21st, 2016 at home in Spencerville, Douglas Matthews peacefully entered into rest he was 82 years old. Doug Matthews beloved husband of the late Betty-Jane Matthews (nee Tarbush). Dear Father of Kathleen McKeown, Lori (Perry) Sommerdyk, Debra (Bruce) Matheson, Jim (Kelly) Matthews and Kelly (Cory) Kirk. Cherished Grandfather of Cassandra, Gregory, Michael, Melissa, Eleanor, David, Bradley, Brett, Brianna, Emma, Tyler, Troy and Great Grandfather of Douglas, Pierce, Aubrey, Michael, Nathan, Owen, Chloe and Sophie. Doug was predeceased by parents John and Christina Matthews, by brothers Jack, Harry, his twin Don and sister Joan. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In Keeping with Doug's wishes there will be no visitation or service. Light a memorial candle, place a donation to the Heart & stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association or share a special memory of Doug at www.mackayfuneralhome.com
