Dearest Annable Family
Please accept my sincere condolences.
I was very saddened to hear of Alvie’s passing. He had a long productive life and was a great man.
Such a wonderful husband foremost, a father beyond compare and overall, an exceptional human being.
Never would you find Alvie without a smile on his face and that twinkle in his eye ready for a nice visit or a joke here and there.
All his sons inherited that wonderful sense of humour and kind demeanor.
I, only knew him for a short time, however he made a great impression on my life and how things should be. I am honoured that I knew him for that time.
I am thankful that he got to know my precious grandchildren, Nicole, Mason and Carter.

My cousin Alvie was a true gentleman with a keen wit and gracious manners. He was kind-hearted like his dear sister, Marg who was always ready to help out her little travelling cousin with the loan of a suitcase. I'm sorry that Alvie had to suffer the heartache of losing
his dear son, Tom, not so long ago. He will be remembered in Prescott and by all who had the privilege to know him. S. E. Roberts

To Family and Friends of Alvie Annable,

First, I would like to introduce myself, my name is John Osborne... Alvie is an Uncle of mine, my Mom Mary being one of his sisters.
I would like to share some thoughts and feelings I had when learning of My Uncles Passing!

I was deeply saddened when hearing this news, my first words to his son Jim were "That is so sad, just terrible! I am sure yourself, your brothers, and all the family there, feel as I do right now... left with a hole in my heart that will not heal!"

I have Always held "My" Uncle Alvie close to My Heart, and cherished every visit and conversation/email/text etc. that we had! I have tried to stay as close to both Alvie and Jean as possible and while living in Kamloops, British Columbia since we moved here around 1980 has made this a challenge... I feel myself, my wife Sheila, and my 3 kids have not done too bad. We have made many visits down to see Alvie and Jean, and My kids when back there with their Mom Sheila, when I couldn't make the trip, would always stop in, and I believe they also stopped by on their own, when there by themselves. Alvie and I would share many phone calls and emails over the years, Alvie would send me with a very short 1 or 2 question email, and of course, I would rattle off a 2 or 3 page story of life etc. and that seemed to keep us connected for awhile again!

Alvie and I shared a passion for woodworking as a hobby, and I enjoyed talking to him about his projects, lawn ornaments etc! I really admired his hand carved creations he made! They were incredibly well done, and I have the privilege of owning a few he gave to me, and my Daughter Tammy as well from 1 of her visits with Sheila down to see Alvie!! If I had of lived closer, I would have Absolutely Loved to come and spend more time with Alvie, and get some carving lessons... and learn some of his excellent finishing skills displayed on his carvings!

Alvie always would have some jokes, and with his ever present humor, chuckle and laughter, it was always a treat to be around him! On our last visit down there a few months back, to see him at the Hartford Residence... even though having problems with feeling light headed, and falling shortly before I got there, and his face being quite bruised up, his humor still shone thru! I believe I made what I was hoping to be taken as a joke, a question to Uncle Alvie... "So... Have you and Jean Not been getting along?" Alvie just looked up at me, with that beautiful smile, and sparkle in his eyes, and chuckled and said something like "No, but apparently lately I have chosen to take up Flying and although I don’t think I'm not too bad at the Flying part, I'm sure no good at the landings!" We all had a good laugh, and I went on to say "Well Uncle Alvie WE Have to get this fixed! We are going to have to get you in for some Flight Training, Ground School, and we need to focus on the Landings first!" I then said, "Wait a sec... we need to give You some Ground Rules... You are as of Now... No Longer Allowed to take Solo Flights you Now need a Co-Pilot with you for all flights!" and then I pointed to Jean! We all had some more laughs, a great visit.... and as Always... I left with a Richer Feeling in my Heart!

When letting my 3 kids know of 'My" Uncle Alvie's passing, one comment that was echoed by all 3, was that "He was a Special Man!" I would like to share what My Son's reply, it summed their Comments up Best! "So Sorry to hear this news Dad, as I know how much you Respected and Loved your Uncle Alvie! What I do know, the few times that I have met him... I can truly understand why! He had such a Wonderful Spirit about Him!" My Son's comment about Alvie's Wonderful Spirit really rang true for me... I know now that it was that wonderful spirit I felt, from his Presence, his Laughter, and his Heart... that he loved to share with all he loved and cared for and from talking to Jim, and Jean, I believe all friends who came to spend time with Alvie over the years... felt that same "Wonderful Spirit of his!"

In closing... Dear Uncle Alvie... You will be missed Dearly by me, My Wife Sheila who truly loved you from the first time she met you my 3 kids, and as I am sure you well know, Jean, all your son's, grandchildren and your family there AND I also know, by many, many, many more people and friends your have had the privilege of sharing your "Wonderful Spirit" with as well! Rest in Peace "My" Dear Uncle Alvie!

From Your Family here in BC... John and Sheila Osborne, and our kids Johnny, Tammy and Brandy!
