My condolences to Mr. McILvenna, Joanne's brothers and her entire family. I met Joanne about two years ago now in KGH and we both found ourselves there on Kidd 4 for 4 months. We quickly became friends and met up daily in our wheelchairs, our shared friendship, health difficulties and trying to keep the laughter going helped us to maintain our sanity. We had wheelchair races facilitated by the staff (who we came to know well and made some good friends) by waving the green flag and checkered flag and counting the laps. We had nicknames on the back of our wheelchairs, Thumper for me and Tas for Joanne short for Tasmanian Devil. We both made it home after that and kept in touch, I visited Joanne once last year at her home in Prescott and then when subsequent health issues brought her back again to KGH and St Mary's I kept in touch, visited often and helped to make her time a little easier with some shopping, laundry and the constant on the list a "Tim's" coffee. I even tagged along one day for her exrays. Go in peace my friend, Godspeed! Thank you for your friendship, I will miss you and our laughter. Love Donna
