Obituary for Dennis Coligan
COLIGAN, M. DENNIS
At his residence-April 30th, 2023. Dennis was born in Brockville on November 8, 1946 to Margaret (nee Leys) and Arthur Coligan. He was raised in Morrisburg, Ontario and married Jill (nee Arthurs) in 1967. Together, they raised three children in Deep River, Ontario-Andrew (Tara), Christian & Amanda-each of whom he was very proud. Dennis was a former employee of DuPont and Ontario Hydro.
Dennis always loved to tell a good story with a dry sense of humor, discuss the history of his latest flea market find, share a coffee, and found the most joy in giving generously to his loved ones. In his youth, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, sharing his knowledge and crafting a love of water adventures and alpine skiing in his children. An old school soul who didn’t ever grab onto technology and as a result many hand written memories left behind to cherish.
Survived by his 5 Grandchildren-Rachel, Rowan, Evan, Monty and Carys. Predeceased by his parents, brother Clinton (Dolores of Alaska), beloved sister Kelly, and an infant brother. Survived by his brother Leonard & niece Aleksandra; his sister Dawn; nieces and cousins of extended family.
As per his wishes, there is no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A private family service to be held at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Wildlife Federation would be appreciated by Dennis and his family. A life lived with perseverance.
