RAAS, MARIA FRANCINA (nee Van den Dries)
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Maria Francina Raas (Van den Dries) passed peacefully at home surrounded by her 4 children on March 18, 2020.. Maria was in her 88th year. Born on June 10, 1931 in the Netherlands, she came to Canada in 1953. The youngest of 12 children, she is survived by one sister in Holland – Sr. Siefreda Van den Dries and several nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her husband Marinus and son-in-law John Daly. She will be sadly missed by her 4 children Maurice [Linda], Marg Beattie [Bob], Liz Daly and John [Sue]; her grandchildren Laura Deck [Jamie], Richard [Katie], Nick Beattie, Taylor and Michael; and her great grandchildren Zoe, Jillian, Ben and Sam.
Due to Covid-19 Restrictions, there will be no public visitation or service at this time. The family will hold a Private Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mark Catholic Church. Interment in the Spring in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery Spencerville. A Celebration of Maria's Life will be held at a future date. Send flowers, place a donation Online to B.D.H.F.
