Obituary

ROBERTS, CLAIRE MARY (nee CHRETIEN)
With profound sadness, the family of Claire Mary Roberts announce her unexpected passing at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday October 25, 2019 at the age of 82. Claire Roberts was predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Antoinette Chrétien and siblings Roland, Lilliane, Gilles and Marcel. She was also predeceased by husband George, son Tony and grandson Ryan Ashe. Claire is survived by her daughter Diane (husband Lloyd Ashe) and grandsons Daniel and Jonathon Ashe. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Claire was a lifelong resident of Prescott, Ontario who enjoyed joining friends for coffee most mornings, shopping trips with girlfriends, chatting with folks on her walks and spending time with her family. She was a simple woman who enjoyed her life in her own way. She loved all the hugs she received and if she made you smile or vice versa a big thank you from me. My Mom and I talked every day sharing her news about her life. One thing I’ll never regret was taking that time to share. Lovingly referred to as G-ma in our circle, she will be sorely missed. Cremation has taken place and there will be no services as per her wishes. Donations in Claire's memory can be made to I AM ALIVE RESCUE (cheques only please) or share a special memory of Claire at www.mackayfuneralhome.com

A BIG HUG from me Dianne. I've truly missed those visits going down to the park for so many years, before that on the way to the tennis courts and going back even more, all those trips to the pool n sometimes Kelly's Bay. Your parents were always so kind to me and then my Daughter Shelby through her growing years and visits to Prescott. I am so grateful for this and cherish those times very much! There are very few truly honest people doing whats right just because so and both your folks did just that! Do still try to get home for visits (just George n Patti in Johnstown now) and have never gone by King/Sophia without saying Hi to the Roberts House.....and always will! Take care Dianne, and hope we cross paths someday again....still have a couple old 45's we might swap.

We will all certainly miss Claire! She was a neighbourhood friend for many, many years ...a kind and gentle lady. We were sad when she moved from her King St. house but so happy to see her back at neighbourhood parties! I saw her only a few weeks ago and she looked great.
May God grant her eternal peace and may you all find solace in your wonderful memories.

Brought a smile to my face. When you were dating and Mom would be yelling for us to come in for dinner.

We will miss seeing Claire around town. We always had a great chat when meeting her on her way to coffee at Piccolo's. We actually saw Claire last Thursday afternoon when we went to see our friend who as also in the same room at the Brockville Hospital. We were very surprised to see her there and she told us about the events that had brought her there. She had cracked ribs or bruised ribs but we was busy eating dinner at the same time as our friend and we had a great conversation with her and the friend we were visiting. As usual, we kidded around with her. We were shocked to hear she had died the following day. It seemed impossible as she was gone so suddenly. Claire was a great person and will be missed by all her friends.
