Obituary for Mildred Irene "Millie" MacDonald (Dougherty)

MACDONALD, MILDRED IRENE "MILLIE" (nee DOUGHERTY)
Peacefully entered into rest on a rainy October morning. Beloved and devoted Mother of Scott (Angie), Brian (Becki), David (Heidi), and Heather. She was predeceased by her loving husband James "Jimmy", her mother Florence, and her father George. Millie regretfully departs from her Grandchildren: Michelle (Brian), Erin, Jane, Brett, Kate, and Bryce. Her treasured grandchildren will greatly miss her wonderful baking and stories, but most especially they will just miss their loving "Nana" who so enjoyed spending time with them, watching them participate in sports, and other activities. Millie is survived by her brothers Lorne (Jean) and Gord (Yvonne), and her dear in-laws, as well as her many adoring nieces and nephews. Millie enjoyed numerous friendships. Those friendships and her family enriched her life and helped her be the: positive, strong, and energetic person she was. Millie relished travelling, for the rich experiences and the people they included. She bravely fought the cancer that eventually claimed her.
Thank you to The Palliative Care Team, the B.G.H, and the Bridlewood staff for the care and compassion they showed this lady who spent so much time helping others during her lifetime (Meals on Wheels, Catholic Women's League, MS, Breakfast Program).
