SMITH, ANN BERRY (nee LINDSAY)
Ann passed peacefully on July 9th, 2017 in her 98th year. She was the last surviving member of a close-knit family of seven: brothers Jim, Roy (Marion), Bert (Rita), and sisters Ruby, Jean (Jack), and Dorothy (Earle). Her beloved husband Donald M. Smith predeceased her in 1997. She is survived by her daughter Susan (David) of Alliston, ON. Ann lived most of her life in Prescott, ON., moving to Barrie only in 2007 to be closer to Susan. She served in World War II as a WREN in the Canadian Navy, stationed both at Cornwallis, NS and London, England during bombing. She was an ardent sports enthusiast both as a player and as a fan, particularly in curling, golf and baseball. She was a long time member of Prescott Golf Club and St. Paul's United Church.

In keeping with the family's wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Interment service will be held in Prescott Cemetery (Sandy Hill) on Monday August 14th, 2017 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers a donation to Susan D. Smith Nursing Bursary, Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation (905) 522-3863 or donations@hamiltonhealth.ca in Ann's memory would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the care of the MACKAY Funeral Home 416 Dibble St. West Prescott.
